The flavors of my kitchen are very much Mediterian and Italian.
But, ever so often I do throw in Mexican flavors and simple Asian.
No food is off limits as I love to experiment with the various flavors and ingredients from around the world.
When I go to my local food store I always love to look at the spices and dried herbs to see what I may not have. There are so many new flavors for all various cuisines.
I buy new bottles to bring them home and smell them. This allows me to then place in my own mind what that smell would pair with and how I could use it. My nose has very heightened sence of smell and when creating a new recipe I am able to put that to great use and combine flavors and smells without even cooking the food- a great gift I must add .
No matter how full my spice, herbs and condiment cabinet gets I push things aside because in my opionion... there's ALWAYS room for more.
