Even though I love to cook and look forward to eating good food, there are certainly those days when I find no inspiration. I looked through a few favorite cook books ,or my own written repertoire and still nothing. Today was one of those days.
Even with watching my favorite chef I still just didn't want to cook.
But I know that if I don't prepare something we're in for the even more exhausting game of..."where are we going to eat " . So thinking of what needed to be done this evening after dinner, I decided that a great salad of varying ingredients would be yummy, healthy, easy to prepare and have no cooking involved. This is just what I needed.
In the warmer months a salad for dinner is a great option, especially if take out is the other.
I like to have various, easy to grab ingredients on hand, both in the pantry and fridge to make my life easier. Different lettuce choices, canned beans, already cooked chicken, fruits, nuts, herbs. What ever you enjoy.
This is the type of dish that screams for individuality!!
So even on those days that I wish I had a Personal Chef, I choose to eat salad.
Tomorrow... what to keep in the pantry.
